For books available for the Amazon Kindle, sales of the digital version are already equal to 35 percent of the total sale of the book. For instance, if 1,000 people buy a new hardcover on Amazon.com, the retailer will sell an additional 350 copies on the Kindle. This comes just 18 months after the product was first introduced.
