Although the Guardian is correct to point out that Texas Monthly is the arbiter of the best barbeque in the world, the title is not awarded on an annual basis. If they had bothered to read, say, the table of contents for the issue, they would have seen that Texas Monthly conducts the "quintessential, quinquennial review" of smoked meats and sauces. It makes the title that much more dear.

If you are going to Snow's, get there early. They are only open on Saturdays, and they sell out by 10am.

Yea, cardio might not help you lose weight. But a true, full-body conditioning program that includes resistance training, cardio and flexibility exercises undoubtedly can help you lose weight -- even without a huge change in diet.

I do agree though, diet is very important. I've lost a good amount of weight and it was mostly the result of only drinking water and eating a lot of grilled chicken spinach. However, I love red meat. I'm at the point now where I exercise to fight off what I eat. People just have to realize that health and eating well aren't hard, just take a little will power.

To me, the point itself isn't profound. But it does fly contrary to perceptions.

What happens when the protagonist in a movie wants to cut weight?

Suddenly there is a montage, and (s)he is running through the streets of her city, doing push ups, and skipping rope. The diet almost never comes into it (unless it's Rocky drinking raw eggs).
